A piece that has had a number or incarnations over the past year, now in its final one.

This piece is reflective of a childhood art process ... colored crayons under black ... then scraped to release painting. AND of the Mola from Panama in my husband's collection ... colored cloth over which a black piece of cloth is opened to reveal the color underneath.

BURNISHED

Sept 3 - 28 2008 Mindport gallery of bellingham http://www.mindport.org/ showed the work of local EDGE graduates. I was honored to be part of this group and this show. AnnMorgan Curry(curator-owner) always shows her artists brilliantly and this was no exception.

We were asked to do 2 pieces, one showcasing our particular style and the other a self-portrait.

My abstract is called BURNISHED - primarily acrylic on textured board. completed 07/08

My self-portrait is mixed media and consists of inked poems, a musical score of the jazz lick Donna-Lee, a handmade paper shade and paint on canvas. NFS.
