In 2016 I bought a home in Saskatoon and began to move from my home in Bellingham. First living only summers in this new home and returning to a studio-less apartment in B'ham while my husband awaited his permanent residency. The pieces below came out of that first summer.

PAINTINGS 2011-2012
SOLD: charlie elke
memories of those hot hot Saskatchewan summer days. And the narrow little road that was only open to traffic in the summer. A great road for those sunday after church leisurely drives 'looking at the crops'. Lots of little hills at which dad would gun the motor of the car so that on the downhill we would get that roller-coaster lurch to the stomach. Sweet laughter.

paintings 2008 -2011
Between 2008 and 2011I moved out of my home studio and into a studio in downtown Bellingham, Here I continued my exploration on board and canvas. Became an Edge Graduate through Washington State's Edge Program. And became part of the art community of B'ham. My work began to reflect the land in which I know lived; its oceans and dark skies. Moving from cadmium reds and yellows to phalo greens and dioxine purples.

PAINTINGS 2002-2007
From 2006-2011 I moved away from works on paper and onto works on board or canvas. I was experimenting with colour and movement. As well, they seemed to reflect the places in which I had lived and played: the prairies of Canada and the Rockies of Colorado. Many paintings contain a reflective and meditative quality; I called them my Horizons. Others were simply exhuberant displays of energy
